Birthday Celebration

On Tuesday we celebrated my birthday and what a day it was. Peter surprised me with flowers and a card when I woke up. Then took me to Einsteins for my favorite bagel, Everything Bagel, of course. Then after work he took me to Chevy's. Another one of my favorite eateries. Now I know many of you may not agree with me liking Chevy's and are probably saying, "I can think of a lot better places to eat than Chevy's". But you must know, they have the best chips and salsa ever made. And for those of you that know me well, know that I'm kind of obsessed with chips and salsa. Plus they have these amazing flautas that you dip in a sweet jalapeno jelly. Oh Yeah! (Thought about you Cassie as I stuffed my face.)
That night we went to Peter's sister Kim's volleyball game and came out with a victory. After the game we went to Peter's families house for some cake and celebration. Peter made a Funfetti cake all by himself and it was so good! So basically I just ate all day. It was a great birthday, thanks for all the calls and best wishes. I have to say that one of the best gift I got on my birthday was this in my email in box. These are the Jensen kids, whom I adore and miss so much. Aren't they the cutest things you have ever seen? (Besides your own children of course.)

I'm kind of cool

A few years ago I did an internship with LDS Family Services Headquarters. While I was there they had me work on several documents to better education unwed mothers and parents of unwed mothers. I truly enjoyed my time there and learned so much. Well the other day I was searching for something on the LDS Family Services website and I saw a link that caught my eye and sure enough it was a link to a document I had created while I was there. I knew that they had distributed this to the other agencies throughout the world, but I didn't know it was posted online. And that years later it's still posted! So, I guess that kind of makes me cool.

The document I am talking about can be found at: http://www.providentliving.org/ses/birthmother/wecanhelp/0,12266,2181-1,00.html

Then look on the right side of the page, under "Featured Items" click on "Birth Parent Fact Sheet (English & Spanish)"

Busch Gardens

This past weekend Peter and I took a fun little trip down to Williamsburg, VA. It's only about 2 1/2 hours from where we live and it's absolutely beautiful. It was such a peaceful drive as we drove through the deep forests with the leaves changing colors. The main reason for going was to go to Busch Gardens. Peter was able to get free tickets for us, since he's in the Air Force. Yeah, they are honoring America's heroes by giving them and their dependants free tickets once a year. On Peter's admissions ticket it said Hero:Peter Bell. It's great and kind of funny at the same time. I mean he's always been my hero, but..... OH CHEESE BALL.

Anyway we had the funnest day walking around and riding the rides. I have not been to an amusement park in so long. Check out this one, it's called Griffon. It takes you to the very top and then stops and holds you there for about 8 seconds. SCARY! Speaking of scary they had the park all decked out for the Halloween season. They had people dressed up in creepy outfits walking around and jumping out of bushes and stuff. This guy was super creepy. He would stand there and just stare at everyone and then after a while start walking towards someone. Other people were dressed up as bushes or scarecrows and just blended into the background and then all of a sudden jump out as someone who wasn't paying attention. It was so funny watching people get scared.

I was so impressed with this park. They have great food, shopping, musical acts, etc. We tookj a break from walking around and saw the musical and dance act, Monster Stomp. We stayed the night in Williamsburg that night and then attended church and Peter's favorite Chinese restaurant before heading home. It was so great to just be able to do something fun with each other. It beats the usual Saturday chores and studying!

Skyline Drive

This past Sunday Peter and I decided to go check out the beautiful fall colors up at the Shenandoah National Park. It's about an hour away from us and absolutely gorgeous. I know my pictures don't show much, but I was out of battery and only got a few shots.
It was such a beautiful day, so peaceful. We even took our picnic basket (courtesy of cousin Brit and her family) and our portable grill (courtesy of the Dalton family) and had a fancy picnic. I think we need more of these days in our lives where we just relax and enjoy what and who we are surrounded by.

Per your requests

Why has no one ever told me about this?

For those of you that really know me, know that I have struggled with crazy eyebrows my entire life. My sister called me bulldog growing up because my eyebrows were so crazy. I honestly don't know why my Mother (or Sister for that matter) didn't start plucking for me at age five. Anyways, although I have tried since I was a teenager to control them, I've had limited success. Until recently when I've turned my eyebrow problems over to a professional (aka waxer) have I had normal (actually nice looking) eyebrow. But still, all this time, no one ever told me about this magic stick. Luckily I was watching the style channel the other day so that I could learn about this amazing product. What is it you ask, a wax stick. That's right, a wax stick! You run it along your eyebrows when getting ready and it holds them in place. Genius. Even when I have gotten my plucking under control, my eyebrows still like to wander. As soon as I get this, there will be no wandering any longer.

And for those of you that may have known about this and never told me, I'm not happy about it.

I feel good about this......

Carrie Underwood Dating Travis Stork?
Thu, 02 October 2008 at 10:17 am

CARRIE STORK
American Idol champ Carrie Underwood might be dating former Bachelor Dr. Travis Stork, according to sources. Could this twosome be the next reality TV match made in heaven?
Carrie, 25, has been touring America with the “Carnival Ride” tour. And according to the country music blog, Nashville Narc, Stork, 36, was spotted with Carrie backstage. Apparently, he had had an all-access pass to one of her concerts in Topeka, Kansas a few days ago.
Stork, who is an ER doctor, is also the host of the CBS daytime talk show The Doctors (The series is a spin-off of Dr. Phil, which is a spin-off of The Oprah Winfrey Show).

I love Carrie Underwood and this man is darling. Some may say it's embarrassing for me that I like the show The Bachelor, but I don't care, I just do!

Visit my friend's Etsy Shop

My dear friend Shauna Lewis just started an etsy shop (for those of you who don't know what etsy is, think of it as ebay meets craigslist for all things crafty and handmade) to sell custom high contrast paintings from peoples favorite photos. She is so talented and I recommend that you all go check out her website.

And order something from your favorite photos. These make great gifts and are so darling. In fact, Shauna made one for Peter and I for our wedding, check it out.
