Just a bunch of random things

I feel like there haven't been any huge events in the last few weeks to really write about. Plus I am the worst at taking pictures, I just always forget. So here are a bunch of random things that have happened and thoughts.

- Last weekend we went out with some friends to dinner and the temple. Chris is a classmate of Peters'.

- On Sunday, Elder Eyring, an Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints came to our ward. It was a totally surprise and a very welcomed one. He bore his testimony for a moment and I swear he was just talking to me. He talked about how the Lord knows every sparrow that falls. He is aware of all of our disappointments, heartaches and pains. He knows us! Elder Eyring reminded us to remember this and to feel it as we partake of the Sacrament each Sunday. Although I have known these things, I always seem to forget. Hearing the words spoken on Sunday were truly an answer to my prayers and my personal yearnings.
- So my friend Meg is a hair dresser and last night I finally got my hair done. I haven't had it done since October and I had probably 3 inches of darker roots. Also last night, Meg walked me through how to do highlights and then I actually did them on her hair. It was late and so I haven't seen how poor and amature they look yet with her hair dry, but it was still fun. I really want to learn how to do that kind of stuff!

- The weather is changing out here and I am loving it. The blossoms are out and the tulips have emerged. Here are some pictures of the tree on the other side of our porch. These trees are everywhere out here and it just makes me happy every time I see them.
I've learned over the last few weeks:
- just how patient my husband is. Thanks Peter.
- that Pei Wei, candy, family, and Princess Diaries II can bring so much joy.
- that I'm not alone.
- that we can do the things we want/hope to, we just have to be patient sometimes.
- that life is good, I have much to be grateful for.

Elder Eyring just showed up!!?? How cool is that?! Of course in my world I would probably have been late and totally missed it anyway- good way to learn to be on time to church! thanks for sharing some of what he said- and the rest of the things you are grateful for. When someone else counts their blessings it encourages those listening to do the same. Thank you.
