I'm excited Peter is able to do something he loves and feels good about. I know it will be a long road to get through school, but I am excited for the journey. I know there will be lots of great adventures ahead, both good and bad as we go about this. I am proud of Peter though and the decisions he has made to be a doctor, to provide for his family, and to serve and be a part of something bigger than himself. He said to me the other day, with a grin on his face, that he is a part of the greatest religion in the world and the greatest country in the world, both of which he is willing to serve. When he says things like that, my fears of the future seem dissipate.

Peter's First Day
My husband Peter started medical school on Monday, August 25, 2008. He is attending the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD which is just outside of D.C. He is going to be a doctor for the U.S. Air Force. Hence the uniform.(I know it's blurry, sorry, I'm still trying to get use to this whole "being a good wife" thing.)

Boo's Wedding
My cousin Brooke got married just 2 weeks ago in San Diego. It was such a great weekend. Brooke and I have been really close growing up together and have shared a relationship that is special for most cousins. I adore her and was so happy to be there and see her be so happy. She married Trent, who is great! He makes her very happy and very comfortable, which I love. The weekend was so amazing. All the cousins and family was there and it was so fun. Since I grew up in San Diego there are so many people who I've known forever and don't get to see very often and so it was so fun to be able to see them and catch up.
Peter's grandfather actually married them and so it was so special to witness that and just feel the peaceful feeling in the room. The reception was beautiful and ended with the traditional cousin dance party.
I love you Brooke. I'm so proud of the decisions you've made and the person you've become.
Our Honeymoon
Peter and I went on a cruise to Mexico for our honeymoon. It was such a great week. Honestly, it was so great to just hang out, be in the sun, relax, and eat whatever we wanted. There was beautiful scenery including the rocks of Cabo, the open sea, and the mix of whales and dolphins passing the ship. I think everyone should be able to go on a honeymoon at least once a year. It was so great to be able to spend so much time together and do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted with no responsibilities. Don't worry, the two days after our honeymoon Peter went of to Alabama for a training. It was a rough month being apart. I hated not being able to be with my new husband and enjoy the perks of married life. He's back now though and so once again life is as it should be.
